Founded over a decade ago by entrepreneur Annie Towler, Retro Peepers began modestly as Jeepers Peepers Retro Eyewear. Towler was looking for some stylish reading glasses for herself and could not seem to find any that matched her classic pin up style and fun-loving fashion. So she did what any artsy gal would do and designed them herself. Twelve years later, her one-woman business ships worldwide from Scotland, offering hundreds of designs and rolling out new ones every year.

Peppered with fun quotes by vintage icons like Marilyn Monroe and Vera Wang, Retro Peepers’ site is fun to browse while shopping for the perfect rockabilly reading- and sunglasses. You’ll find women’s styles inspired by the 1940’s, 50’s, and 60’s, all of which can be reglazed to your specific optical prescription. Each design is named after a different beloved pin up girl and can be ordered in a variety of colors to suit any rockabilly or vintage outfit.

Also be sure to check out their new collection known as, “The Edge.” With men’s and women’s glasses, these designs are all handmade and limited edition. They aim to recreate classic vintage looks using modern materials for a firmer and longer lasting construction than the old-fashioned originals.

While these are available with a variety of different reading glasses’ prescription strengths, any prescription can be added to the lens for a small surcharge to make them right for you. As Retro Peepers’ founder likes to point out, you don’t have just one pair of shoes, so why would you only own one pair of glasses?

With the huge variety of stylish retro options to choose from, there is no need to settle for just one pair. Make every outfit fabulous with the eye-popping designs of Retro Peepers!

Tres Noir Rockabilly Sunglasses

Tres Noir is a sunglasses brand started by two brothers who wanted to create real, one of a kind sunglasses designs. They took classic American styles that are typically channeled in pin up, retro and rockabilly looks and turned them into functional pieces that are completely unique in the marketplace.

Their main objective was to create retro styles of sunglasses that were high quality and affordable, and through this passion they created Tres Noir Handmade Optics.

Each frame in Tres Noir is handmade individually from acetate, and the styles are not mass produced. They are inspired by classic Americana culture, with heavy influence stemming from music and lowbrow art, particularly rockabilly styles. The first collection was introduced to the public in spring 2006, running out of a garage in Long Beach, California.

Little did the brothers know that the reaction would be so positive and the demand would soon become overwhelming. They launched another collection in 2007, moving to a warehouse in Orange County, California. The glasses can be seen on many musicians, scenesters and artists, making an unexpectedly huge impact on pop culture.

With 17 original styles, the clientele is just as diverse as the uniqueness of the looks. If you’re a fan of the pin up, retro and rockabilly looks, a pair of Tres Noir rockabilly sunglasses is an integral part of your wardrobe. Get the classic cat-eye look from the Tres A Go-Go frames or Ultra Lux. For more of a circular Audrey Hepburn look, the Bombshell frames are sure to have heads turning. The Femme Fatale, Sonic Reducer and Kabuki Girl frames all offer something unique, with square, oval and wide lines that can complement any face shape.

Tres Noir hasn’t forgot about the men, either. Classic greaser dude looks can be found in the 45’s and Waycooler frames, or go for The Belmont for the classic aviator look. Big and small square and rectangular looks are all available for the guys who are looking for both extreme and subtle rockabilly or retro looks.
